PETERSON PROFESSIONAL
Professional finish on trim, windows, and doors, the process begins with thorough prep, including cleaning, sanding, and filling any cracks or holes with caulk or wood filler for a smooth surface. All areas not being painted are masked off using painter’s tape, plastic sheeting, and masking paper to prevent overspray or brush marks on adjacent surfaces. For hand-painting, a high-quality angled brush (2” or 2.5”) and a smooth-flow enamel paint like Sherwin-Williams ProClassic, Emerald, or Benjamin Moore Advance are used, applying two thin coats for durability. When spraying, a fine-finish airless sprayer (Graco 395 with a 210 or 310 fine finish tip) provides an ultra-smooth, factory-like look. The first coat is lightly sanded before applying the second coat to eliminate imperfections. Tape is removed before the paint fully cures, and touch-ups are made for a crisp, professional finish.
